Plane trees at night...

As I suspected, our newly shorn plane trees are at their best--and scariest--at night. Imagine you're five years old and you look out of your bedroom window to see.....this.

The two-headed monster of Léran. He can move and bend, you know. The sturdy clubs on his heads are used to whack passers-by...who are dragged away and never seen again.
See those outstretched arms? As the hours go by, the trees slowly advance towards each other and join in a stately dance. At least, that's the story. No one who has seen it has lived to tell the tale.

I love your descriptions and your imagination in this and the previous post! Our boys first saw the trimmed plane trees on the Titeuf cartoon - they said, 'Look at those funny trees!' and then got very excited soon after when they realised that the town near our house had its very own 'funny trees'! That's how I still think of them, but the images you've created in my mind are more interesting...
